About Bloomholm
Your home is a small island. We help it flourish.
Bloomholm makes calm, well-made things for people who want their home, inside and out, to feel alive without becoming another job.
The name
Two words, and neither of them is decoration.
We chose an island because that is how people actually live now. A flat in Manchester. A balcony in Leipzig. A courtyard in Milan. Not three hectares of English lawn, but a small territory, entirely yours, that you look after.

Bloom
verb
To flourish. To thrive. Not the flower, but the act of coming alive.
We kept it as a verb on purpose. If bloom were a noun, we would be a flower company, and we would be stuck in the garden forever.
As a verb, the subject of the sentence stops being the plant and becomes the home. A tidy kitchen flourishes. A wardrobe without damp flourishes. The promise does not change when the catalogue does.
holm
noun · Old Norse
From holmr: a small island. The same root that gave Europe Stockholm and Bornholm.
A northern islet is small, defined and self-sufficient. You can see its edges, and everything inside them is your responsibility.
That is closer to a modern home than any pastoral image of a garden, and it is why our palette is wet stone, pine and lichen rather than warm terracotta.
What we believe
We do not sell plants. We sell the competence to keep something alive.
Most things in a home fail quietly, from small neglect rather than disaster. A fortnight away. A cupboard nobody opens. Our job is to make the upkeep of a place ordinary enough that it stops being a chore you feel guilty about.
How we work
Five rules we wrote down so we could be held to them.
These are not values on a wall. Each one exists because breaking it produces a specific, predictable disappointment, and we would rather lose the sale than cause it.
Every claim we publish is a number you can check against the object in your hand.
We write: holds water for up to 14 days in a 20 cm pot.
We do not write: an oasis of endless hydration.
Every product page states what the product does not do, in the same size type as what it does. Saying so costs us a few orders and saves a great many disappointments.
Example: sized for a wardrobe or a car, not a whole room.
A use card goes in every box: three illustrated steps on the front, manufacturer and safety details on the back. If something is used wrongly, that is a failure of our instructions, not of your attention.
We deliver an object. An object can be measured, returned and replaced. A feeling cannot, which is why promising one is the fastest way to sell something that comes straight back.
Deliverable: come back to living plants.
Not deliverable: transform your life.
Window light on an overcast day, in a real home rather than a studio. A used cup left in the corner of the frame is fine by us.
Every product carries at least one photograph of the item held in a human hand, so that nothing about its size surprises you when the box opens.

- ✓ Honest scale: real measurements, and a photo of the thing in a hand
- ✓ A quiet look that sits inside your home instead of announcing itself
- ✓ Something that works while you forget it exists
- × A viral gadget with a countdown clock on the page
- × A permanent crossed-out price or manufactured scarcity
- × A promise of instant or total transformation
- × Any claim about health, treatment or wellbeing. We sell household objects

Who you are actually buying from.

We are small, and we answer our own email.
If something arrives wrong, write to us before you do anything else. Nearly everything is solved in one message, and we would always rather hear from you than have you open a dispute.
